Visit to Vaas

 Friday 18 April

Staying another night at La Bruere-sur-Loir, so today just drove the short way to the slightly bigger town of Vaas beside the River Loir.  Very pretty views from the bridge over the river.

We hadn't had a meal out since my birthday, and as there was a hotel (La Vedaquais) advertising lunch 'menu' for 17Euros, we went in!  We had the place to ourselves for a while, so had the full attention of our young waiter.

It was quite a basic meal, but for that price - 3 courses + bread + apple juice - it was great.  Except John wishes he'd chosen the fish instead of the meat.  Beef cheek was a bit too chewy!

Needed a walk to settle the food, so followed the signs to a working mill.  The museum wasn't open, but we could look outside and watch the wheel turning.

Then back to Camping-Car Park at La Bruere for the rest of the day.  Travelling further north tomorrow to a campsite for a long stay - 3 nights.
